Larisa Mendez Downes has a Master's in Journalism from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and a BA in International Relations from Boston University.

She most recently worked for the National Student Nurses' Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring student nurses and providing leadership resources. She was the managing editor for the organization's Imprint magazine, and was responsible for the association's print material, including program and guideline books, press releases, reports, and the occasional article.  

When I did my Masters at Goldsmiths College, Larisa enriched my papers and essays. She edited essays in my style and voice, and they benefited from her understanding of the context I wrote in as a Latin American Spanish speaker writing in English. She did more than simple translation - she used the perfect words and phrases in the context I needed them.
